Baroque pearls are the ones the industry grades down for being irregular. They catch light along a ridge instead of flat across a sphere, and I would rather have that than a matched pair of perfect circles.

Looking after it
Nacre is soft — 2.5 on the hardness scale, softer than a copper coin. Wipe with a damp cloth, never a silver dip, and store them away from anything metal.
Resizing, re-polishing and re-blackening are free on anything from this bench, for as long as she is working. Everything else has a published price.
